Soon neighbors living in the Estates West area will no longer have to drive down to the Whole Foods at Dal-Rich Village if they want to load up on health food and produce.
That's because Sprouts Farmers Market is replacing the Albertson's at Coit and Campbell.
You may remember reading about this almost a year ago back in our April magazine. I interviewed a Sprouts spokesperson who told me the company was considering the vacant space. Turns out the deal was indeed closed and a grand opening is slated for mid-summer.
The market specializes in local produce and all-natural meats and cheeses--plus the store does a lot of community outreach with free nutrition counseling and cooking classes.
But Sprouts won't take up the entire building that once housed Albertson's. A portion of that building is being converted into Home Goods, a spinoff of TJ Maxx. No definite word yet on when the home furnishing store will open, but I've placed a call trying to find out--I'll keep you updated on what I hear.
