Living paycheck-to-paycheck: Survey says half of us are broke

Here's a little food for thought, particularly these days when the economy is challenging: A national survey of workers shows that 47 percent of us live "paycheck to paycheck". Even people with salaries of $100,000 or more per year say they're running a little too close to empty — 21 percent say they live paycheck to paycheck, too. Other survey tidbits: More than 25 percent of workers say they don't save any money each month (actually this figure seems low, assuming that 47 percent of the people live paycheck-to-paycheck). Meanwhile, when it comes to budgeting, women take the cake: 70 percent say they set a budget, while only 61 percent of men say they do.
